LUX Technical were contracted to edit videos for four interactive screens in the brand new visitor centre at Rutland Water. Last week we were invited to attend the official opening for the new centre at Sykes Lane.

LUX Technical spent the day yesterday taking photos for Elise Parts, who specialise in aftermarket upgrades for the Lotus Elise. The images will be used on their new website, www.eliseparts.com. As well as taking photos, LUX Technical created animated videos to demonstrate their LED light products. We look forward to working with them in the future.

LUX Technical provide Sound, Lighting & Audio Visual services for Les Miserables Schools Edition

LUX Technical were contracted by Stamford Endowed Schools to provide Sound, Lighting and Audio Visual services, for their major production of Les Miserables.

LUX had the challenging task of creating a false proscenium and wings, as the stage within the 1930′s school hall had the existing proscenium removed. With a combination of Prolyte trussing and cuplock scaffolding they successfully achieved this.

Another challenge was power. LUX provided two 60KVA Gensets with mains distribution incorporating a changeover switch for a Standby Genset.

Along with the typical Source four’s, AVO Dimming, MAC 700′s, MAC 600′s LUX also used the i-Pix BB4′s, a fantastic product which they are looking forward to using on more events in the future.

The sound was provided via an L-Acoustic Rig, LAB Gruppen amplifiers with on board Lake Processing. 19 Sennheiser g3 300 series Microphones were also used.

A fantastic production to be involved with.

Aladdin Uncut Show

Between the 20th & 26th of February LUX Technical provided the sound & lighting technical support and operation for the event ‘Aladdin Uncut’ by PantSoc. Which was shown at The Riley Smith Hall, within Leeds University Union.

The show ran between Wednesday the 22nd and Saturday the 25th with an additional matinee performance on the Saturday. Aladdin Uncut featured twenty actors from the society as well as a seven piece band.

Putting a contemporary spin on the classic story, the show was a great success and received a glowing four star review.

Bourne Abbey CoE Primary Academy Installation

Bourne Abbey CoE Primary Academy chose LUX Technical to design and install their new sound & lighting systems after recommendation from a Health & Safety Officer.

After meeting with the school to assess what would best suit their needs, we decided to install a combination of Allen & Heath and HK products for the audio, with ETC, Zero 88, Selecon & Doughty equipment to provide the lighting.

The Installation took place between the 13th-17th of February 2012.

Stamford High School Installation

LUX Technical completed a new installation within Stamford High School today.

The High School asked us to strip out exsiting drapes & track, and refit accordingly. LUX Technical chose to install Doughty six track accompanied with new black wool surge drapes supplied by J&C Joel.

We have just uploaded a selection of our multimedia highlights from 2011. Clips include projects such as The Burghley House Wedding Show, held on the Burghley Estate, Stamford. The residential weekend we filmed in Leicestershire for The Mighty Creatives as well as time lapse projects, and an educational promo video for Brooke Hill Academy in Oakham.

Queensgate Christmas Lights Switch On

The event featured local Heart FM presenters a Michael Buble tribute, Postman Pat and of course Father Christmas.

Queensgate Peterborough Student Lock-In

For one night only, Queensgate offered up to 20% off at selected stores exclusively for students.

The shopping centre supplied a bar, DJ’s and live music from up-and-coming pop punchers Whisky Jax.

LUX Technical supplied the sound system and sound operators for the evening.

Solar Panel Time-lapse

LUX Technical have been commissioned by Manor Solar to create a time-lapse video of a Solar Panel installation.

We spent a day on site with the solar panel company and captured the day in full, from the initial removal of the tiles through to the connection of the inverter and the solar panels being fixed to the roof.

The video will be added to the LUX Technical site soon.

Filming at Kirby Hall

This weekend we have been filming a String Duo at Kirby Hall which is a English Heritage site.

Kirby Hall has been used as a filming location for Jane Austen‘s Mansfield Park and A Christmas Carol for Ealing Studios in 1999, and Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story in 2005.

It was a great opportunity to achieve some beautiful footage of the String Duo as well as capturing the stunning assets of the house such as the architecture and grounds.

Photo Shoot for Misura Models Casting Day

LUX Technical operates and manages a photo shoot for Misura Models at Dance Works in the heart of London’s West End just off Oxford Street.

We met over 68 models throughout the day and captured both full length and head shots of each model for the Misura database.

Models will now go on to work at the head offices of retails shops such as Topshop, River Island and Debenhams.

We hope to work with Misura Models again in the future and wish them every success.
